General parking information

Paid on-street parking in Zalakaros will be introduced on Monday 3 August 2026.

Chargable period: every day of the week from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.

Parking charges:

400 Ft per hour

3,000 Ft per day

At the parking pay-and-display machines, payment can only be made using 100 Ft or 200 Ft coins, or by bank card.

You do not need to place the paid parking ticket behind the windscreen.

The Municipal Council of Zalakaros has Regulations on parking in public areas of the town of Zalakaros Local Authority Regulation No. 9/2026 (2 July)It laid down the rules relating to paid parking in public spaces.

Information on Residential Season Tickets

Fee for applying for a Public Transport Pass:

personal In the case of administrative procedures: 5000 HUF per vehicle

online In the case of administrative procedures: 4000 HUF per vehicle

The Residential Season Ticket Valid until 31 January 2028. The Residential Pass can then be renewed and remains valid until 31 January of the following year.

The Zalakaros with a permanent place of residence having private individuals They may apply for a Residential Parking Permit, which entitles them to park without paying a charge in a vehicle they own or operate.

The Resident’s Pass is linked to the vehicle registration number, exclusively electronicIt will be on display.

The Public Service Provider shall issue the Residential Pass upon registration with the Public Service Provider, submission of an official document confirming the address and a copy of the vehicle registration certificate, and payment of the Residential Pass fee to the Public Service Provider.

The Resident’s Parking Pass entitles the holder to park free of charge in all parking zones.

Information on Staff Travel Cards

The following are eligible to apply for an Employee Travel Pass:

Businesses, organisations, institutions, primary producers and sole traders operating at Gyógyfürdő Square, 8749 Zalakaros, and providing retail, hospitality or service activities there, as well as the Zalakaros Spa, Hotel Napfény, Hotel ParkInn, Hotel MenDan, Art Hotel, Hotel Forrás Zalakaros and the Boni Family Wellness Hotel.

The amount payable Number of staff season tickets: 90.

Gross price of an employee travel pass 25,000 Ft each.

The Staff Travel Pass Valid until 31 January 2028. The Staff Travel Pass can then be renewed and remains valid until 31 January of the following year.

Eligible persons may apply for an Employee Travel Pass for a motor vehicle they own or operate, or for their employees to use for their daily commute to work.

Assessment of applications for the Staff Travel Pass:

Regarding Staff Travel Passes that may be issued to individual applicants

• Up to 5 staff travel passes, the public service provider,
• Up to 15 staff travel passes, the mayor,
• The Council decides on the allocation of more than 15 staff travel passes.

With an Employee Parking Pass, you can park free of charge only at the following locations:

• Zalakaros, Termáltó and Ökopart car park, plot no. 264/17, in the 74 parking spaces within the car park,
• in the 16 designated parking spaces at the southern end of Üdülő Street (ART Hotel – Petrol Station).

Apart from these parking spaces, The Staff Parking Pass does not entitle the holder to park elsewhere without purchasing a parking ticket (for parking).

These parking spaces may also be used by other vehicles, subject to payment of the parking charge.

An entrepreneur who has a contractual relationship with persons eligible to apply for an Employee Travel Pass, and who provide services to them may apply for an Employee Travel Pass in order to facilitate the provision of the services set out in the contract, which they may use for the purpose of providing the contracted services.

Queues on Nyírfa, Akácfa and Hársfa Streets

On Nyírfa, Akácfa and Hársfa Streets (hereinafter referred to as: restricted zone) A traffic sign prohibits stopping both on the road and on the verge to ensure that property owners in the restricted zone can park in front of their properties. Parking on the kerb is only permitted with a permit issued by the local authority.

The Municipal Council of Zalakaros has laid down the rules governing parking in the restricted zone Local Authority Regulation No. 10/2026 (10 July) on the procedures for the issue and use of parking permits(hereinafter referred to as the ‘Regulation’).

By vehicle in the restricted zone You may only park whilst waiting if you hold a parking permit issued by the local authority. The parking permit entitles the holder to park only in a private car.

The parking permit only on the public land in front of the property specified in the licence gives grounds for expectation.

Application for the issue of a temporary residence permit application on this form located within the restricted zone property owner (hereinafter referred to as: the applicant) may submit.
