Cycling

East of Zalakaros, the route is almost entirely flat, with hardly any inclines – this is typical of the first 35 km of the 45-km loop, but on returning to the town, we get a taste of the Zala hills: on narrow roads, amongst the vineyards, you’ll have to tackle short but all the more gruelling climbs.

The Cycling Centre has been operating next to the Tourinform Office in Zalakaros since 1 May 2013.
The sports centre, built with funding from a grant scheme, offers new opportunities for those interested in active tourism. There are numerous cycle paths in the Zalakaros area, which provide an excellent way to explore the region whilst enjoying active leisure.
At the new cycling centre, you can hire bicycles for adult men and women as well as children, and you can also borrow Nordic walking poles. Signs along the routes make it easy to find your way around, and you can pick up cycling maps of the local area at the Tourinform Office.
